Candle care tips.
Taking proper care of your candles isn’t just about keeping them looking nice— it ensures a safer, longer-lasting experience. Trimming the wick, allowing a full melt pool, and extinguishing candles properly helps prevent soot, promotes an even burn and maximizes fragrance. With a little care, your candles will burn cleaner, last longer, and fill your space beautifully every time.
Trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting.
This helps prevent high flames, smoking, and soot build up, giving you a cleaner and safer burn.
Never remove wick by hand. Always use a wick trimmer or scissors to remove wick and debris from wax pool.
Burning.
Allow candle to burn for 2-4 hours to ensure it gets an even burn to the edges of the vessel. This ensures a cleaner and more even burn, and prevents tunneling.
Avoid burning your candle for more than 5 hours at a time to reduce the risk of overheating the container.
Use a wick dipper or snuffer.
To extinguish your candle, use a wick dipper or snuffer instead of blowing it out. this prevents wax splatter and helps eliminate smoke.
Keep the wax pool clean.
Remove any debris like matches or wick trimmings from the melted wax. This keeps your candle clean and burning properly. Do not remove debris with your fingers. Use a wick trimmer or scissors to remove.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
An open flame left unattended can pose a risk. Before leaving your space, gently extinguish your candle to ensure no accidents are caused. Keep burning candles away from children, pets, vents and fans.
